El video es una acción de arte, predispuesta como una mediación entre las plantas y mi cuerpo, utilizando el "Chacay" (planta extranjera), mal llamada maleza, a modo de unión en un recorrido donde ella crece, y donde se acaba la ciudad. Cemento/Maleza/plantas. Cuerpos plantas rechazados, tal cual el lugar en el cual se realiza la acción.

The video is an art action, predisposed as a mediation between the plants and my body, using the "Chacay" (foreign plant), misnamed undergrowth, as a union in a journey where it grows, and where the city ends . Cement/Weeds/plants. Rejected plant bodies, just like the place where the action is performed.

 

• Statement

Carla Soto Ampuero, nace en Cochamó al sur de Chile.
Estudia Pedagogía y posteriormente experimenta en diversos oficios artísticos, pasando desde la Gastronomía, Pintura, hacia el tatuaje y la performance. Su gesto creativo se basa en la relación que existe con la naturaleza, y como las diferentes formas de cohabitar la vida, se relacionan hacia las micro y macro experiencias comunitarias y los territorios. Hoy en día cohabita en Chiloé, y se encuentra activando varios espacios, desde lo comunitario y el apoyo Mutuo en territorios y cuerpxs de tierra, violentados por el extractivismo y el patriarcado.

 

Carla Soto Ampuero, was born in Cochamó in southern Chile.
She studies Pedagogy and later experiments in various artistic trades, going from Gastronomy, Painting, to tattooing and performance. Her creative gesture is based on the relationship that exists with nature, and how the different ways of cohabiting life are related to micro and macro community experiences and territories. She today cohabits in Chiloé, and she is activating various spaces, from the community and Mutual support in territories and bodies of land, violated by extractivism and patriarchy.
